Grande performing on her Dangerous Woman Tour in Manchester, New Hampshire in 2017
Nov 06, 2018 Ariana Grande fans have been pointing out that many of these songs have been available online for a long time. Ariana Grande fans have been left wondering about the identity of an account responsible for the release of songs purported to feature the 'thank u, next' singer.
Ariana Grande is an American singer and actress. Her music career started in 2011 when she contributed vocals to the soundtrack albums for the American TV sitcom, Victorious, in which she also starred from 2010 to 2013.[1] Three soundtrack albums were released between 2011 and 2012.[2][3][4] In 2011 Grande also began to work as an independent artist outside of Victorious. Her debut single 'Put Your Hearts Up', a bubblegum pop song, was released the same year. Grande later called it 'inauthentic and fake' and described it as 'the worst moment of my life'; she hid the video on her Vevo account.[5] After she expressed her disappointment with the song, Republic Records gave Grande more creative control over the production of her debut album.[5]
Yours Truly was released in September 2013.[6] It was preceded by the release of the first single, an R&B song called 'The Way' featuring Mac Miller.[7] The song was written by Miller, Harmony Samuels, Amber Streeter, Al Sherrod Lambert, Brenda Russell and American recording artist Jordin Sparks.[8] Follow-up singles included the 1990s-R&B-influenced 'Baby I',[9][10] and 'Right There' featuring Big Sean, which Grande stated serves as a sequel to 'The Way'.[11] Grande worked with Babyface on the album's opener 'Honeymoon Avenue' and recorded a duet with Nathan Sykes called 'Almost Is Never Enough'.[8]Christmas Kisses, Grande's first EP, was released in December 2013.[12] The EP which included only four songs was primarily christmas music, and featured collaboration with Elizabeth Gillies.
Grande's second studio album, My Everything, was released in August 2014.[13] The lead single, 'Problem' features Iggy Azalea and Big Sean (uncredited) and heavily features a saxophone in the beat. 'Break Free' is an electronic dance music song produced by Zedd; it is a genre which Grande revealed she never thought she would venture into, but the experience caused her to only want to record dance songs.[14] 'Break Your Heart Right Back' featuring Childish Gambino incorporates two samples: 'Mo Money Mo Problems' by The Notorious B.I.G. and 'I'm Coming Out' by Diana Ross.[8] Other contributing songwriters and producers on My Everything include Ryan Tedder and David Guetta, who composed 'One Last Time', and Harry Styles former member of British boyband One Direction, who co-wrote 'Just a Little Bit of Your Heart'.[8] In November 2014, Grande was featured on Major Lazer's song 'All My Love', which was included on the soundtrack to The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1.[15] The same month, Grande released a Christmas song titled 'Santa Tell Me'.[16]
Grande's third studio album Dangerous Woman, was released in May 2016 with positive reception.[citation needed] Work for the album, originally titled Moonlight, began and continued throughout 2015. 'Focus' was intended to be its lead single, however the 'stabbing big-band brass' track with infused horns such as the saxophone, trumpet and a trombone along with clanging percussion and cowbell was later scrapped from the album's track list following its release in October 2015.[citation needed] Grande returned to the studio and later released the title track of the album, which incorporated an arena rock chorus and a guitar solo during its bridge, followed by 'Into You' and 'Side To Side', featuring Nicki Minaj, a dancehall and reggae-pop song. Promotional singles included 'Be Alright' and 'Let Me Love You' featuring Lil Wayne, with the album exploring darker themes than her earlier work.[citation needed] The album also features collaborations with Macy Gray and Future, who was featured on the fourth and final single, 'Everyday' released in January 2017.[citation needed] The album hit debuted in the top ten positions in the majority of the countries charts it entered.
Grande's fourth studio album, Sweetener was released in August 2018 with universal acclaim. The lead single 'No Tears Left to Cry' which incorporated a UK garage beat was released in April 2018, followed by 'God Is a Woman', a dominantly mid-tempo pop song with trap elements, in July 2018. Grande also teamed up with Nicki Minaj in 'The Light Is Coming', serving as the sole promotional single in June 2018. 'Breathin', a dance-pop song containing influences of synth-pop was released as the third single in September 2018. Sonically, Sweetener explores different experimental themes, incorporating mostly pop, R&B, and trap songs along with elements of house, funk, neo soul and hip-hop. Tropical house, EDM, synthpop and minimalist urban influences are also seen on its beats and productions.[17]Missy Elliott and Pharrell Williams served as collaborators on the album on songs such as 'Borderline', a 90's contemporary R&B track, and 'Blazed', a high tempo song with a funk-influenced beat. Commercially, the album entered the top ten in multiple nations worldwide while breaking several of Grande's personal records.
Grande's fifth studio album, Thank U, Next, was released in February 2019. It peaked at 1 on the billboard 200 for 2 weeks. It has now been in the top 5 since its release. It spawned hits like “Thank u, next.” Which debuted at 1 and other hits as “7 rings” which also debuted at 1 and “Break up with your girlfriend im bored” which debuted at 2. Grande is the only artist since the Beatles to have multiple songs on the top 3 spots on the hot 100. 7 rings was 1, break up with your girlfriend i’m bored was 2 and thank u, next was at 3. All of the songs on the album charted under the top 50. Fan favorite 'Needy' debuted at 14 on the hot 100 and stayed on the charts for 4 weeks. Another popular song called “Nasa”, debuted at 17 and stayed on the chart for 3 weeks. Fans also loved “Bloodline” it debuted in the high 20’s and fans have rumored that it will be her next single with Nicki Minaj. The album was created by Grande alongside her best friends and they made the album in about 6 months. The friends all wrote the songs and produced hit songs. Grande got personal with her song titled “Ghostin”, beautifully written by her and her friends. The song is about the hard times she grieved over ex-boyfriend Mac Miller's death while she was with her ex fiancé Pete Davidson. Fans say that this is her best album and that it could be possible for it to be nominated for Album of the year. Stream dance to this.
